HEROES AMONG US, INDEED During halftime at tonight's game at the FleetCenter, the Boston Celtics will honor Stephen and Ann Connally, founders of Quinn's Legacy Foundation, with the "Heroes Among Us" award. The award will pay tribute to the courageous and exemplary efforts the Connallys have taken to provide academic and athletic programs for thousands of kids by building the Quinn Connally Memorial Sports Facility in honor of their son Quinn, who died at the age of 12 while practicing with his youth hockey league. The primary mission of Quinn's Legacy Foundation is to foster a drive for athletic and academic excellence in youth and provide them with a facility and programs through which to set and achieve their goals. The facility will be a multipurpose complex that benefits thousands of young athletes, students, and community members in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. "Quinn loved all sports. He would have been ecstatic about meeting the Celtics and having the opportunity to attend a playoff game," said Steve Connally. "We are honored to receive this award, although it was Quinn who was the true hero."
