Ways & Means of Making the QCMSFBC a Viable Business

  • Reach out to the children, families and aspiring athletes of the community.
  • Reach out to the underprivileged, emotionally, physically and mentally challenged individuals.
  • Provide programming second to none in the ice sports for Berkshire County residents and surrounding tri-state area.
  • Place emphasis on learn to skate programs. Work toward growing enrollment, interest and participation in the ice sports.  This approach will ensure healthy enrollment for programming down the road.

Benefits for the community

  • Will stimulate local economy through hosting special events, figure skating shows, hockey tournaments, antique shows, etc.
  • Will be an amenity for the county. Could help attract potential employees/residents
  • Will be a safe and fun place to go for children and families.
  • Will give the county a cutting edge year round multi-purpose facility, Olympic and NHL size rinks for ice sports, indoor soccer and lacrosse, an arena for the arts, recreation and entertainment, plus a banquet/ meeting hall. The possibilities of usage are endless.
  • Will give the county a cutting edge year round multi-purpose facility, Olympic and NHL size rinks for ice sports, indoor soccer and lacrosse, a 3000 seat arena for arts, recreation and entertainment, plus a 500 seat banquet hall. The possibilities of usage are endless. Each component of the facility, the two rinks and the banquet hall, can operate independently, as they have their own entrances.
  • We are now linked directly to the Center for Reading and Language Research at Tufts University. They have graciously dedicated a conference room to Quinn as a tribute. We will use that connection to provide informational links to families with children coping with learning disabilities. We also plan to offer space for tutoring programs to area children.
  • Any monies above operating expenses will be used to develop scholarships and or subsidize programming for ice sports, provide grants for local tutoring services for children with learning difficulties

The QCMSFBC has a very large potential market. We will be targeting the population with in a fifty mile radius from our location to increase our customer base.   We feel we will become a well respected sports facility very quickly. This will be accomplished by radio and media advertisements as well as hosting and supporting community events. Much information will be shared via our web site on the net.

The QCMSFBC 's competitive edge is two fold. The facility is the only multi sport, multi use complex that offers Olympic and NHL size rinks that are available for sports competition, entertainment, and community events. The potential scope and variation of the programs run from this facility , and special events will be unmatched by any other facility in the area. The second edge is the location, size, and new appeal. We will maintain our focus in our strategy, marketing, program development, and fulfillment, to keep all aspects of operation current and cutting-edge.

Revenue will ultimately be based on: selling programs (i.e. learn to skate, youth hockey figure skating etc.)  the quality programming being offered and the amenities of the facility. We need to approach and address the needs of target groups that have not been ice users prior to our rink.( i.e. summer camps, summer child care programs, health and fitness facilities, resorts, retirement communities)

Stress the usefulness of our amenities: fitness area, party rooms, study sanctuary, large banquet/ meeting area.

The dual rink one Olympic one NHL , convenient location of the facility and the fact that it is a new resource for sports and entertainment will attract people to experience what we are about. Stressing the multi-purpose use of the center will be a key promotional concept. Our early main focus is to gain as much exposure as possible to get people in the facility and see what we have to offer.

This project will already be deep rooted in the community. To keep the peoples interest, we will keep them informed of the completed construction phases through the entire project. We can also extend that to the out-lying areas as well.( Albany Springfield and S. Vermont) This can be accomplished through our web site local news papers .

Having Lea Ann Miller, a former Olympic Figure Skater on board will also help us in promoting the facility. Her name recognition in the figure skating world will be a very valuable marketing tool. With her programming guidance and name recognition, we feel our ability to attract new users will be much easier. When a sport personality is associated with a facility more interest is generated.

We will offer public tours to the high schools, spas camps, and child care facilities. We will publicize a large promotional event to open the facility, offer a free recreational skate period. Host various community events that will bring in people who otherwise would not use the rink, i.e. home shows, antique and juried craft shows are some examples.

Host a Berkshire County day, offering free admission to skate.

We will also offer subsidized usage to under privileged groups.

Following the opening of The QCMSFBC, print and radio media will be created to promote both the facility and programs that are offered to attract more county participation , and to attract the out-lying areas.
